Design Is Subjective
One of the big 'problem areas' in web design is the design itself - the look and feel of your website. Design is such a subjective issue that it's often hard to come up with a quantitative way to handle it from a billing or limitation point of view. Design simply takes a lot of back and forth and quite frankly, some good luck in hoping that the designer and client happen to be on the same page in terms of what they do or don't like for a design.
The problem is that it may take more than one try to get it right. And since time is money, it's difficult for our firm to offer a fixed price solution while still allowing for the open-ended nature of the design phase. We can't reasonably offer unlimited design modifications. However, we do offer you up to three revisions of the mockup design of your website. We're confident enough in our design abilities that we are one of the very few firms out there that will offer you these many revisions for a fixed fee.
100% Money Back Offer
Moreover, we go so far as to offer you a 100% money-back guarantee so that if you're not happy with our design work and don't think you ever will be, you can get every penny back. This mitigates your risk by taking all of the "what if I don't like the design" questions off the table during the sales phase. Not only do you basically get a design that you're guaranteed to like, but this policy also essentially gives you a risk-free test drive of our design abilities.
The money-back offer is unconditional, so even if you like the design but just don't have a good vibe about working with us, you could cancel the project, get all your money back, and you're only out whatever time you took to work with us on the design. We are often asked "so what's the catch? Where's the fine print?" This offer will be detailed for you in writing in our Contract. But it's basically just what it says. There are only really three caveats covered in our fine print:
1. The offer extends only up until you accept the mock-up design as final. In other words, once you accept the design, you're committed to seeing the project through.
2. Our fixed pricing model has factored in the subjective nature of the design phase. Should your project take more than three revisions, you will be given an estimate for an additional revision before we do the work. We will perform the extra work only after you have given us written approval. Your sales rep can walk you through the details of an extended revisions project.
3. If you do decide to cancel the project at any time, you don't get to keep the design work, nor can you use it as the basis for your project later on.
